April 5, 2010 - Los Angeles, CA – “…Let there be bloodlust” at the 2nd annual Vampire-Con. This year’s gathering rises from the grave for another blood-curdling summer, and this time, bleeds into the fall.

The macabre festivities begin Thursday, June 24th with a three-night film festival devoted to classic vampire movies at the New Beverly Cinema, Los Angeles. On September 25th, Bathory’s Ball celebrates the Season of the Witch with an evening of dark glamour.

Following last year’s highly successful film festival, Vampire-Con begins Thursday, June 24th with a 60’s vs. 70’s themed mash-up of classic Vampire flicks. “There Will Be Sangre” on Friday, June 25th as V-Con rips open a Spanish flavored vein with co-presenter LatinHorror.com.  Saturday, June 26th closes the film festival with “Saturday Night Vampire Fever,” featuring a collection of grooving films all from 1979. Information about the lineup of films will be released as they are confirmed.

The Vampire-Con film festival returns to the New Beverly Cinema, located at 7165 Beverly Boulevard. Say producers Wendi Mirabella and Lotti Pharriss Knowles, “We are thrilled to be collaborating again with The New Beverly Cinema.” Southern California’s premiere independent movie theatre, The New Beverly was recently given a life-saving transfusion by new owner Quentin Tarantino, while management of the theatre remains under Michael Torgan.

Drawing fans of Twilight and True Blood, die-hard horror lovers, Vampire scholars and members of the Latino and LGBT communities, Vampire-Con successfully honored every Vampire from Nosferatu to Lestat. The sprawling weekend appealed to fans, families and the Hollywood party circuit, beginning with a two-day film festival, a convention day featuring vendors, panel discussions and contests, and in the evening Vampirella’s Ball, a danse-macabre with performances by Lucent Dossier.
